People Deserve a Chance to Be Heard

I ride the public transportation a lot. In every ride all sort of people can be seen. Some are in a hurry, some look frustrated, and it breaks my heart that no many people are smiling. One day, I saw one of the passengers outside the bus. I took a moment and ask how he was doing. This old man managed to share his story of his life during the ten minutes that I had the chance to listen to him. It was really touching for me when he told me "it is nice to actually talk to someone" This homeless man is ill, has no family and barely has food. However, he smiles when he is being heard. Talking to him was a reminder that material things are not more than "things". One can help so much by just asking asking a simple question or even just by giving a smile to someone. Let's give more kind smiles to strangers, they will surely appreciate it in the inside! =)

Football Game's Parties

When growing up, I was never inclined into watching sports. I always loved playing soccer, but I never understood the meaning of seating in front a TV for hours. It wasn't until my good friends invited me to come over to their house and experience the "American" way to watch games. I have to confess I wasn't very excited about it. Life gets really busy and seating on a couch for hours didn't seem appealing. When attending my first football game party, my perspective totally changed. Football games are just the excuse to get together with friends and spending amazing quality time. Sometimes, we are all too busy to ask how everyone is doing; however, being in a non-work setting allows to appreciate thoughts that otherwise wouldn't been shared. Life is beyond work and studies, life is about joyful experiences. Being that said, today marked my second season of watching football games. My friends are amazing organizing the party. We have a lot of food (made with lots of love, of course) we talk about what is going on with everyone's life and we manage to laugh a lot, too! I never imagined that watching a game could be so rewarding. I am so blessed to know amazing friends that make everything so fun and enjoyable! I am glad I am not "too cool" to watch football games anymore! I am looking forward for more football game's parties and hopefully more people should be able to do the same! =)
